How to get on and off the Hojo Railway

1. 

   Purchasing tickets

   • If you board at a station with a ticket vending machine
     If you are boarding at a station with an automatic ticket vending machine (Hojomachi Station), please purchase your ticket before boarding.

   If you board at a station where there is no station staff

   • If you are boarding at a station where there is no station staff, please simply enter the platform.
   • Please be sure to take a numbered ticket when boarding (numbered tickets are not issued at Hojomachi Station and Awo Station).

   

2. 

   Please wait inside the yellow line on the station platform.

   • When a train is approaching the platform, it is extremely dangerous to go beyond the yellow line (towards the tracks). Always wait inside the yellow line.

   

3. 

   Please board through the rear door of the vehicle

   • For two-car one-man trains, please board through the door towards the rear of the first car.

   

4. 

   Please take a numbered ticket when boarding.

   • Even if you have a ticket, a coupon ticket, or a commuter pass, please be sure to get a numbered ticket (numbered tickets are not issued at Hojomachi Station and Awo Station).

   Let's sit in an empty seat

   • If there are no seats available, please hold on to a strap.

   • It is extremely dangerous to move seats while the bus is moving, so please do so only when the bus is stopped.

   *There are "priority seats" near the boarding and disembarking entrances. Please offer your seat to the elderly, people with disabilities, pregnant women, etc.

   Check the fare table

   • The fare table is located at the front of the vehicle.

   • The fare is the amount displayed in the column with the station name that matches the station name on your numbered ticket.

   • An announcement will be made on the train when the train is approaching a station. Please check the fare when you get off the train.

   When you get off, please pay at the fare box at the front.

   • When you get off, please pay your fare in the fare box located at the front exit door (next to the driver's seat).

   When using cash, a ticket, or a coupon ticket

   Please place your cash or ticket together with the numbered ticket into the fare box. Please note that no change will be given.

   Those who have a commuter pass or free ticket

   Put your numbered ticket into the fare box and show your commuter pass or other pass clearly visible to the driver.

   Using transportation IC cards

   Transportation IC cards such as ICOCA cannot be used.

   About currency exchange

   

   • To exchange money, please use the exchange machine attached to the fare box at the front.

   *10,000 yen and 5,000 yen notes cannot be exchanged, so please inform the driver.

   *The train will shake while in motion, so please be careful when moving seats or exchanging money.
